The METC fitness center is taking soccer registrations for all interested METC students only. A letter of intent from the unit sports representative is due March 18. A coaches meeting will be held March 18 at the METC Fitness and Sports Center. Games begin on March 26. Games will be played at Pershing Sports Complex. Units may have more than one team. JBSA-FSH METC Fitness Center Saint Patrick's Day 5K Run/Walk March 16 • 8 AM Wear your best St. Pat's Day outfit! Dogs on leashes and strollers are welcomed. Eligible men and women are welcomed to compete in a free lifting challenge hosted by METC Fitness Center. Respectively, in a combined bench press, dead lift and squat challenge, men’s weight lifting goal is 1000 lbs and women’s weight lifting goal is 500 lbs. Get ahead of your New Year’s resolutions to get fit. The METC Fitness Center hosts this free event with showtime at 7:30 a.m. at the Pershing Ball Fields, building 3212. This event is open to all DOD ID card holders and their guests ages 16 and older. Transportation provided for students, volunteers and other participants. Pick-up and drop-off at the Aquatic Center’s parking lot starting at 7:15 a.m. Prizes awarded to the first and second place runners. Stair Climb Challenge

Stair Climb Challenge Oct. 1-28 Patrons use stair stepper equipment to complete weekly challenges. The first week challenge is to complete 897 steps to simulate the Washington Monument; second week, complete 952 steps to simulate the Tower of the Americas; third week, complete 1576 steps to simulate the Empire State Building and in the fourth week, complete 2109 steps to simulate the Willis Tower. The event is open to all DoD ID cardholders at no cost. Prizes are awarded to the top male and female competitors with the most steps completed.
