Update: VHIC Card

To be able to access the Canyon Lake park with the Veterans health identification card (VHIC), it has to state under the picture: Service connected, Medal of honor, Purple Heart or Former POW. Then you will have to go to one of the JBSA Base visitor centers to be vetted. It is a small back ground check done and then they place a small JBSA decal on the back of the card. That decal is the only way to gain access to the park. VHIC members can have themselves plus 4 others in the same vehicle.

Current Restrictions

Each vehicle coming into the park must have an Adult DOD ID card holder. If staying over night you will have to submit your guest list either through the call center email or by phone the day prior before 1pm. There can be no changes or adding a guest list after 1pm the day before check in for any reason. We have to have our numbers prior to, especially for weekends or holidays to let guest in for day use. The list cannot exceed 10 people, that is the sponsor plus 9 others. No exceptions. Check in is between 1pm-7pm, no check ins after 7pm for any reason.
